10 Cap: ₹20 · 100 Cap: ₹145
Acidal Plus Capsules carry the antacid core of Acidal Plus syrup — Meetha soda (sodium bicarbonate), Shankh bhasma and Kapardika bhasma — with licorice and a touch of peppermint, in a sugar-free capsule.
They are meant for acidity, heartburn and other stomach upsets, when you want quick relief on the go.
Used for
- Acidity (Amlapitta)
- Heartburn
- Gas & sour belching
- Bloating & indigestion
Why acidity flares up
Your stomach makes strong acid to digest food. When it makes too much, or acid washes back up into the food pipe, you feel heartburn, sour belching and a burning upper belly. Spicy or fried food, irregular meals, stress and painkillers are common triggers.
Ayurveda calls this Amlapitta — aggravated Pitta with an excess of its sour and liquid qualities. The quickest relief is to neutralise the excess acid; lasting relief comes from calming Pitta and correcting digestion.
Acidal Plus works in 3 ways
- Fast Antacid (Amlapitta-shamaka) — Sodium bicarbonate and the calcium carbonate of Shankh and Kapardika bhasma neutralise excess stomach acid within minutes.
- Soothing (Dahahara) — Licorice coats and soothes the stomach lining; its flavonoids are anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective in laboratory models.
- Carminative & Antispasmodic — Peppermint's menthol relaxes the smooth muscle of the gut, easing cramps and wind.
Key ingredients
- Meetha soda (sodium bicarbonate) — 250 mg. Sodium bicarbonate neutralises stomach acid within minutes (HCO₃⁻ + H⁺ → CO₂ + water), easing heartburn and acid indigestion; the released carbon dioxide can cause burping. Not for regular long-term use with high blood pressure or kidney disease.
- Shankh bhasma (calcined conch shell) — 100 mg. Conch shell calcined by classical Rasa-shastra methods into fine calcium carbonate (calcite). Like any carbonate antacid it neutralises excess stomach acid; Ayurveda uses it for hyperacidity, indigestion and colic (Amlapitta, Parinama shoola).
- Kapardika bhasma (calcined cowrie shell) — 100 mg. Cowrie shell calcined to a fine calcium-carbonate powder. Ayurveda prescribes it for hyperacidity, indigestion, colic and an enlarged liver or spleen; its antacid action is that of calcium carbonate, and clinical research is limited.
- Mulethi (Yashtimadhu) (Glycyrrhiza glabra, stem) — 48 mg. Licorice root coats and soothes irritated mucous membranes of the throat and stomach. Glycyrrhizin and licorice flavonoids are anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective in laboratory models. In Ayurveda it is the classic Kanthya — good for the throat and voice.
- Peppermint (Mentha sps.) — 2 mg. Menthol activates the cold-sensing TRPM8 receptor in the airways and gut, giving a cooling feel, damping the cough reflex and relaxing intestinal smooth muscle; in a human study, menthol vapour raised the cough threshold.
